1,000-job Projects Fill North Carolina’s Pipeline for Economic Development

Talk of an economic slowdown doesn’t appear to be hitting North Carolina hard. At least not right now when it comes to economic development in the state, where up to 88,000 jobs are up for grabs from expanding and relocating companies.
Christopher Chung, CEO of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, said activity is high across the state. EDPNC’s pipeline sits at 236 projects as of July. It’s down about 7% from a month ago “following a number of projects getting closed out as wins, losses or cancellations,” but still adds up to tens of thousands of potential new jobs and $97 billion in investment, an increase over June.
