Please plan to join us for the EDC’s May 21st Industry Leaders Council (ILC), hosted by Southern Distilling at their state-of-the-art facility located at 211 Jennings Road, Statesville NC 28625.
Established in 2017, Southern Distilling is the first legal distillery in Iredell County as well as one of the largest privately owned distilleries outside of Kentucky. Southern Distilling was recently recognized as the 2024 Exporter of the Year by the North Carolina Department of Agriculture, after earning New York’s title of Best in Class and Best Overall Bourbon out of a field of more than 650 spirits in 2022. In 2023 Southern Distilling brought 6 medals home to Iredell County including double gold at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirts Competition.
We will be treated to a tour of the Southern Distilling’s facility for a first-hand look at how Southern Star Bourbon and Whiskey is made. Check out this recent video by Discover Statesville – Southern Distilling.
Additionally, this ILC will feature a presentation from the NC Department of Commerce International Trade Division where export specialists at the Economic Development Partnership of NC (EDPNC) can help businesses take advantage of the many opportunities available in the expanding global economy. EDPNC’s business development managers offer services to help North Carolina companies export for the first time or assist those companies that want to expand their export capability.
The meeting will start at 10:00 am and end at 12:00 pm with a networking lunch provided by Southern Distilling.
