A defense contractor with its headquarters campus on Lake Norman has bought more land there for a possible expansion.
An entity affiliated with Corvid Technologies bought 96.8 acres off Transco Road in Mooresville last month for $14 million, according to Iredell County real estate records. The land neighbors Corvid’s existing Mooresville campus, where the company opened a 250,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in July 2025. At the groundbreaking ceremony for that facility, Corvid President and CEO David Robinson said the company had just put around 100 acres under contract to eventually expand the campus. That land was the property recently acquired by Corvid.
The company declined to comment on potential expansion plans in Mooresville.
“Timeline and details of any development are 100% TBD at this point,” Matt Hurley, Corvid’s chief operating officer, said in response to a CBJ inquiry about the land acquisition. “We are excited to have secured the land however as it certainly helps add flexibility as it relates to future expansion.”
Further expansion of the Corvid campus would line up with the company’s rapid growth. Robinson founded the company in 2004, when Corvid had around $350,000 in annual revenue. In 2024, the company reached $350 million in revenue.
Corvid is a U.S. Department of Defense contractor and engineering firm. The company performs design, analysis, prototyping and testing and utilizes computational physics for products in sectors including missile defense and motorsports.
