Corvid Technologies has added a large manufacturing facility to its Mooresville campus near Lake Norman. The company still has ambitious future expansion plans there.
The U.S. Department of Defense contractor and engineering firm today held the ribbon-cutting event for its new, 250,000-square-foot facility. The building is expandable up to 350,000 square feet. The new operation adds a significant manufacturing element to Corvid’s campus. The company opened its headquarters there in 2019.
Corvid President and CEO David Robinson said the company last week put an additional 100 acres under contract to further expand its campus. Exact plans for the land off Transco Road and Langtree Campus Drive are unclear.
Corvid performs design, analysis, prototyping and testing and utilizes computational physics for products in sectors including missile defense and motorsports.
The company last year won approval from Mooresville and Iredell County officials for incentives for its manufacturing expansion. Incentives records from that time show Corvid’s expansion could create more than 50 new jobs and retain 367 more workers at the Mooresville campus.
Robinson today reflected on Corvid’s growth. He founded the company in 2004, when Corvid had around $350,000 in annual revenue. In 2024, the company registered $350 million in revenue. Robinson said the company’s average annual growth rate is 40%. Corvid now has 11 companies under its umbrella and has 10 locations from North Carolina to Hawaii.
Robinson was joined by Mooresville Mayor Chris Carney and U.S. Rep. Pat Harrigan (R-N.C.) as speakers at the event.
“Corvid isn’t where it is because of me,” Robinson said. “It isn’t where it is because of our guests. … We’re here because of what the guys in the back have done over the past 20 years. It’s beyond amazing.”
Shelco and LS3P were part of Corvid’s project team in designing and building the new manufacturing building.
