Iredell County Receives Golden LEAF Funding for Expansion of Mooresville Business Park East
The Golden LEAF Board of Directors has awarded $750,000 to Iredell County Economic Development Corporation Foundation for the extension of Herring Industrial Boulevard in the Mooresville Business Park East. The road construction costs include design and engineering and due diligence studies for a portion of the park extending Herring Industrial Drive approximately 500 linear feet towards Mooresville Business Park East.
The Mooresville Business Park East is the third business park developed by the South Iredell Community Development Corporation: South-Iredell Industrial Park, Mooresville Business Park, and Mooresville Business Park East. The parks consist of 1,200 acres, and are home to 24 companies, representing 4,000 jobs for our community. Tenants in the Mooresville Business Park East include SCN BestCo, Fibreworks Composites, and NGK Ceramics. In 2024, Dehn US, a family-owned German manufacturer, announced plans to purchase 75 acres in the Park to build their first US Manufacturing Headquarters.
The park is located approximately 5.6 miles east of I-77 (Exit 36) and approximately 45 minutes from Charlotte Douglas International Airport and Norfolk Southern Intermodal facility. There are 172 acres of property remaining and available for sale that can accommodate buildings ranging in size from 50,000 sf and up. “We are excited about the continued partnership we have had working with the South Iredell Community Development Corporation, Town of Mooresville, and Iredell County to build this Park” shares Jenn Bosser, President & CEO of Iredell EDC. “This grant will be significant in supporting the road infrastructure along Herring Industrial and will further support new job creation and investment in the Town of Mooresville and Iredell County.”
