Iredell EDC Hosts Investors’ After Hours
On April 27, Iredell EDC hosted more than eighty investors representing a broad cross-section of businesses and industries for their Investors’ After Hours at Overflow in Mooresville.
For the first time, the Iredell EDC opened their Investor Meeting for sponsorship opportunities, and this popular event was sponsored by 321 Coffee.
321 Coffee is a specialty coffee roaster built on inclusion, proudly employing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) across every part of the business, from roasting the coffee to taking orders to making lattes. Based in Raleigh, NC, their team of 50+ is demonstrating the value of an inclusive business model.
That same week 321 Coffee launched in every Costco across North Carolina, including the one in Mooresville, with just a 2-week window to prove to Costco that they deserve to be a permanent offering. By May 4, 321 Coffee seemed well on its way.
“While we do not have confirmation of a re-order yet… We have heard from our buyers, and they are THRILLED with sales so far. This is in huge part thanks to organizations like Iredell EDC,” shared Kevin Dannecker, Sales Manager for 321 Coffee.
While Iredell EDC purchased forty bags to share with their guests, many of them quickly made the trip to Costco to support 321 Coffee and their mission. By doing so, they were not only receiving a bag of great coffee, but they were also actively helping create more meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with IDD across North Carolina.
Iredell EDC closed out their meeting with a celebration for the retirement of Lisa Taylor, their office manager of 32 years.
