Mooresville Board Approves East-West Connector Construction Contract

With little discussion beyond enthusiastic support for initiating the project, the Mooresville town board unanimously approved a construction contract Tuesday’s night for what Public Services Director Jon Young describes as “the biggest infrastructure project the town has ever done.”
After the town secured additional state funding and positive response to a request for additional regional road project dollars – and receiving a construction bid $3 million less than the previous low bid – on Tuesday commissioners signed off on a $29.75 million construction construct for East-West Connector Phase I, envisioned as a transportation corridor and catalyst for development between Langtree Road and N.C. 115.
