The Charlotte Region Grew by 16.3% In Last Decade, More Than Double National Average
The Charlotte Region grew by 16.3 percent in the last decade, outpacing North Carolina (9.5%), South Carolina (10.7%), and the nation (7.4%), according to the 2020 Decennial Census. The fastest growth occurred in Mecklenburg County and its surrounding suburban communities: Cabarrus County, NC; York County, SC; and Lancaster County, SC.
