William Morgan Reappointed to State Economic Board

NC Speaker of the House Destin Hall recently announced the reappointment of former Statesville Mayor Pro Tem William Morgan to the board of directors of the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC). Morgan began serving on the board in 2020 and will now serve until 2029.

“I am honored and excited to continue in my role as a member of the board at EDPNC. NC has been named the best state in the nation by CNBC 3 out of the last 4 years. In the last 10 years, EDPNC has been responsible for recruiting over 1400 projects into NC representing over $80 billion in capital investment and over 210,000 jobs. Companies like Toyota, Jet Zero, Novartis and Maersk have chosen our state in which to locate their workforce and expansions. North Carolina is poised to continue this success and I am excited to be a part of it,” Morgan said.

Since 2015, EDPNC is responsible for industry recruitment, existing industry expansion, international trade, small business and travel and tourism in NC.

Morgan serves as chair of the Megasite and Select site committee tasked with identifying and assisting in funding industrial sites across the state. He oversees a budget of over $100 million for these projects.

Morgan served on the Statesville Planning Board from 2008-2013 and on City Council from 2013-2022 and was mayor pro tem from 2018-2022. He ran unsuccessfully for mayor this election.
