In 2025, North Carolina remained highly competitive in landing advanced manufacturing, life sciences, and clean energy projects. The state’s life sciences ecosystem, anchored by the Research Triangle and expanding clusters in the Triad and eastern North Carolina, continued to attract pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotech, and medical device investments. Corporate expansions and new facilities reflected confidence in the state’s ability to supply both specialized talent and scalable sites, particularly in biologics, cell and gene therapy, and contract manufacturing.
