QA1 Brands is establishing a manufacturing facility in Mooresville.
The Minnesota-based specialty automotive manufacturer is occupying an 81,120-square-foot industrial building at Mooresville Business Park East. The building is being newly developed for QA1 Brands by Charlotte-based Trinity Capital Advisors, which plans to deliver the facility by the end of the year.
QA1 Brands will utilize the Mooresville facility as the centerpiece of its East Coast operations.
The company in 2024 struck a deal to buy Mooresville-based Detroit Speed & Engineering from Holley Performance Brands. The company currently has 45 employees in Mooresville, and the new facility will allow for significant growth. An exact number of new jobs to be added was not provided.
QA1 Brands specializes in performance automotive suspension and chassis development. The company’s manufacturing operations will be mainly concentrated at plants in Minnesota and the new Mooresville location.
“The acquisition of Detroit Speed in 2024 brought QA1 to Mooresville, and we’re excited to build on that momentum by expanding manufacturing, growing our team, and enhancing our world class custom car shop,” QA1 Brands CEO Melissa Scoles said. “We’re expanding our presence in Mooresville because we believe deeply in this community and its role in our future.”
Late last week, Trinity Capital bought land at Mooresville Business Park East for just over $1.5 million, according to Iredell County real estate records. The Charlotte developer acquired a 26.6-acre site in the industrial park, which spans well over 400 acres.
Trinity Capital is partnering with SCOA Real Estate Partners to develop the QA1 Brands building. The developer’s project team includes Landmark Builders, Thomas & Hutton and Merriman Schmitt Architects. United Community Bank is providing financing for the development effort.
