Iredell EDC Professionals Receive Statewide Scholarships for Leadership and Professional Development

Iredell County Economic Development Corporation is proud to announce that two members of its team, Evan Day and Jenn Bosser, CEcD, have been awarded prestigious professional development scholarships from the North Carolina Economic Development Association (NCEDA) Foundation. The awards were presented during NCEDA’s 2026 Fall Conference in Asheville and recognize outstanding commitment to professional growth and excellence in economic development.

The NCEDA Foundation awarded 11 scholarships totaling more than $25,000 to economic development professionals across North Carolina. The scholarships support continuing education, professional certifications, and advanced leadership training that strengthen the ability of economic developers to serve their communities and support economic growth.

Evan Day, Economic Development Project Manager for Iredell County Economic Development, received the Jack Ervin Scholarship, which supports advanced economic development training through either the Economic Development Institute (EDI) at the University of Oklahoma or coursework offered by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The scholarship provides funding for tuition, travel, lodging, meals, and related expenses.

Jenn Bosser, President and CEO of Iredell County Economic Development, was awarded the NCEDA Presidential Leadership Scholarship, one of the organization’s premier professional development awards. Designed for experienced economic development executives, the scholarship supports participation in the Advanced Economic Development Leadership training program and covers tuition and related educational expenses.

“These scholarships represent a significant investment in the future of economic development in Iredell County,” said Bosser. “Economic development is a profession that requires continuous learning and adaptation. We are grateful to the NCEDA Foundation for creating opportunities that allow professionals across North Carolina to enhance their skills, expand their networks, and bring best practices back to the communities they serve.”

The dual recognition highlights Iredell County Economic Development’s commitment to professional excellence and leadership development at every level of the organization. The knowledge and expertise gained through these programs will help strengthen the organization’s efforts to attract investment, support existing industry, advance workforce initiatives, and create economic opportunities throughout Iredell County.

“Professional development is essential to staying ahead in a constantly evolving economic landscape,” said Day. “I am honored to receive the Jack Ervin Scholarship and look forward to applying what I learn to support business growth, job creation, and long-term economic success across Iredell County.”

According to the NCEDA Foundation, scholarship programs are designed to remove financial barriers to professional development while helping economic developers gain new skills, build relationships, and earn credentials that advance both their careers and the communities they serve.
