Piedmont HealthCare Expands Advanced Imaging Services at Statesville Imaging Center

New CT scanner increases imaging capacity, with specialized cardiac imaging service capability.

Piedmont HealthCare (PHC) is expanding its imaging capabilities at Statesville Imaging Center with the addition of a new Siemens Healthineers SOMATOM Pro.Pulse CT scanner. The new scanner will be operational on October 22, increasing imaging capacity and patient access.

The new scanner will complement the existing 128-slice CT scanner at Statesville Imaging Center, helping PHC accommodate growing demand for diagnostic imaging. This addition brings PHC’s total to three CT scanners across its imaging locations, including two in Statesville and one 128-slice scanner in Mooresville.

Coronary CT angiography (CCTA), a specialized cardiac imaging service, will be available in the near future. This specialized, noninvasive imaging exam uses CT technology to produce detailed images of the heart’s blood vessels, helping physicians evaluate coronary artery disease and assess certain cardiac symptoms.

“Investments like this allow us to continue expanding access to advanced diagnostic services right here in our community,” said Tim Thieme, Imaging Director of Piedmont HealthCare. “Our goal is to offer the technology and capabilities patients expect from leading imaging centers across the country, while making those services available close to home and outside the traditional hospital setting.”

As a physician-owned, independent medical group, PHC continues to invest in technology and services that support high-quality care within the communities it serves. Expanding imaging capacity and adding specialized services reflects PHC’s ongoing commitment to providing their patients with access to advanced diagnostic resources close to home.

The new CT scanner will be available at Statesville Imaging Center beginning October 22, 2026.

All imaging and ancillary services offered at PHC are available for Piedmont HealthCare
patients.
