Tracey Jerome Named Town Manager for Town of Mooresville
The Town of Mooresville Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce the selection of Tracey Jerome as Town Manager. The Board of Commissioners finalized the selection at their April 1, 2024 meeting. Jerome will begin her duties for the Town of Mooresville on April 29, 2024.
Jerome has almost 10 years of leadership experience in local government and community-focused programs and services, with more than 20 years of experience in local, national, and international public and private sector business relations. Most recently, Jerome served as Senior Deputy City Manager for the City of El Paso, Texas, having served in a variety of leadership positions in that organization since 2015. Jerome holds an MA from Sotheby’s Institute of Art (London, UK), an MS from Eastern Michigan University, and a BA from the College of William & Mary.
“We were fortunate to have many incredibly qualified applicants to be Mooresville’s next Manager. From the moment we interviewed Tracey, we knew we had the perfect person to lead Mooresville. She demands a high standard from herself and her fellow employees, as well as accountability,” said Mayor Chris Carney. “Tracey will continue to add a culture of customer service that our citizens deserve. We are excited to welcome Tracey to our team and look forward to working with her.”
Jerome is committed to customer service and continuous improvement, with a record of delivering results for organizations and communities. During her tenure in El Paso, Jerome oversaw the development and implementation of a dynamic and data-driven strategic plan. During Jerome’s tenure, El Paso won the state level Baldrige Award twice, in 2019 and 2020, and was a finalist for the National Baldrige Award for Performance Excellence in 2022.
Jerome values transparency and accountability. She believes in fostering organizational sustainability, and is committed to growing cross-community partnerships with individuals and the business community to deliver impactful results for those she serves.
The Town of Mooresville Board of Commissioners engaged in an extensive selection and interview process, determining Jerome’s experience and skill set a fit for Mooresville. “Tracey’s global experience,” Commissioner Ward 4 Lisa Qualls noted, “in combination with our outstanding senior leadership team, will guide Mooresville into the next level of a world class town to raise your family and expand your business and career.” Commissioner At Large Edward Karriker added, “I think that Mrs. Jerome brings a sense of vision that will come along side us as a board and help move Mooresville forward in a great direction.”
