The Business Strategies to Manage Talent Pool Challenges communication, created and provided by the North Carolina Department of Commerce, was recently revised. The communication offers opportunities to expand the labor pool into traditionally untapped, or underserved, populations through Talent Pool Diversification Strategies. These strategies include veterans, transitioning military personnel, former offenders/justice-involved, workers with disabilities, neuro-diverse candidates, foreign labor, youth and seniors. It offers talent retention strategies, such as customized training, ApprenticeshipNC and NCWorks Incumbent Worker Training Grants programs, to retain a quality employee as an option, in lieu of having to recruit, train, and orient a replacement employment of like quality.
