Iredell EDC’s CEO Appointed Vice Chair of International Economic Development Council’s Professional Development Advisory Committee

The International Economic Development Council (IEDC) has appointed Jennifer Bosser, CEcD, President & CEO of the Iredell County Economic Development Corporation, to a one-year term as Vice Chair of its Professional Development Advisory Committee.
IEDC—the world’s largest economic development organization with more than 5,000 members—celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. Its membership includes local, state, provincial, and federal governments; public-private partnerships; private sector companies; site selectors; and academic institutions.
Bosser has been an IEDC member for 15 years. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute in 2013, earned her Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation in 2018, and completed IEDC’s Workforce Fundamentals Certification in 2025. Bosser has also been a licensed North Carolina Real Estate Broker since 2005.
Since joining the Professional Development Advisory Committee in 2020, Bosser has been an active contributor. Her involvement includes serving as a presenter for the CEcD Exam Essentials Course, an exam grader, and a mentor for more than a dozen exam candidates. Her complimentary volunteer leadership supporting professional development includes serving as President of Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women (TCREW), where she helped launch UCREW to encourage women to pursue careers in commercial real estate. Additionally, Bosser has served as a mentor with the North Carolina Economic Development Association as well as participating as a mentor for both the Charlotte Business Journal’s and Triangle Business Journal’s Mentoring Monday events.
Bosser will serve alongside Committee Chair Justin McLaughlin, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of the Tulsa Regional Chamber. The Professional Development Advisory Committee advises IEDC staff and leadership on the design, quality, and integrity of IEDC’s professional development and certification programs. Its 35 members represent a diverse range of communities and professional backgrounds.
Reflecting on the appointment, Bosser said, “I am honored to join the IEDC Professional Development Advisory Committee. Throughout my 25-year career, I have benefited from strong mentors who invested in my personal professional growth. As our field continues to evolve, it is important that we continue to reevaluate the professional training opportunities our professional organizations provide to remain relevant and credible to strengthen the pipeline of skilled professionals.”
