Iredell County Receives Excellence in Communications Awards

The North Carolina City & County Communicators (NC3C) recognized Iredell County Strategy and Communications Manager Darsee Heath with two Excellence in Communications awards.

Iredell County was recognized in the following categories:

  • Digital Employee Newsletter (Second Place): Awarded for the Iredell County Circle, a key tool in driving the county’s internal communications strategy.
  • Branding/Logo, Large Population (Third Place): Awarded for the County’s newly developed Brand Guidelines, which provide a cohesive visual identity for all digital and print materials.

“Since joining the County in early 2025, Darsee has done a wonderful job bringing our communications efforts front and center. From photography to design to digital and print pieces, she is constantly creating diverse and branded ways to connect with our citizens,” shard County Manager Beth M. Milton.

The awards were announced on April 9, 2026, during NC3C’s annual conference in Beaufort, NC. A record-setting 266 award program entries were judged by professional communications peers from the Minnesota Association of Government Communicators with 39 North Carolina jurisdictions earning recognition.

“As our organization has grown over the last two decades, the awards contest has become increasingly more competitive each year,” said NC3C President Adam Gaub. “Phenomenal work is being done by communicators across the Tar Heel State, and any organization taking home an award this year should be extremely proud of their success.”
